Who feels like laughing?

If you're like me, then you watch the news for the same reasons most people watch an M. Night Shyamalan movie: laughing at the horrible decisions of inept people who think they're the smartest geniuses in the world. Here I thought nothing could beat 2006 for the most fucked up year, but somehow 2014 was so much worse we, as a people, are literally asking for an epidemic to wipe us out.

In the comedy special, Last Laugh 2006, Louis Black said "in 2006 comedians had no jobs because headlines were punchlines." As I said, it somehow decayed even further into willful ignorance, brain-blistering stupidity, primal insanity, and enough good intentions for a six lane freeway straight to Hell.

Between religious goofballs' cries of "we'll kill everyone who says we're not peaceful," racists angry that other racists are racist, and Social Justice Wackos who feel subjugating others to the same oppression that never happened to them is justified, there was no shortage of comedic material. But here's the sad part: they're serious. They are also still going, and most unnerving, they're still making progress. They trample the freedoms they enjoy, idolize the enemies they swore to fight, and generally make humankind look all the more obscene for the resemblance.

And here I am. Watching with a bag of popcorn and a bottle of wine chilled by my chair. So please, grab a seat and join me as I watch the world burn.
